William Foster Obituary, Death Cause – On Friday, March 3, 2023, Mr. William “Bo” Lee Foster, who resided on John Crotts Road, passed away at his home at the age of 89. On February 27, 1934, he was born to Jesse Lee Foster and Bertha Viola Wallace Foster, who has now passed away.
After serving in the United States Navy for four years, Mr. Foster retired from Ingersoll-Rand and remained a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for his whole life. He took annual excursions to the seaside for fishing and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. After many years of service, Bo retired from the Davie County Rescue Squad and continued his work with the Boy Scouts.
He was a dedicated supporter of military personnel and has a long history of volunteering with the Davie County Disabled American Veterans organization. At the senior center, Mr. Foster’s favorite activities were bowling and card games with his other pals. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Campbell Foster; his second wife, Pauline Barker Foster; a son, Jeff “Bubba” Foster; and a stepson, James Barker.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his first son, Jeff “Bubba” Foster. His two children, Lynn Frye (Alan) of Mocksville and Randy Foster of Whitsett, along with a step-daughter, Cheryl Dozier (Mike), are among his survivors. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, A.J. Frye (Katie), Dustin Frye (Ali), Jessie Frye (Reagan), and Joshua Foster; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Frye, and McKenzie.
On Tuesday, March 7, at three o’clock in the afternoon, a funeral service will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church. Reverend David Smith and Pastor Keiko Foster will preside over the ceremony. After the service, the body will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. At the church, the family will host a friend-and-family reception from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
