Tom Schleihauf Obituary, Death Cause – On Sunday, March 5, 2023, Thomas “Tom” Donald Schleihauf passed away in a calm and serene manner at Bluewater Health. He was 75 years old. At the final moments of his life, he was cared for by his loving family on both sides. Elaine’s loving spouse of 52 years, who he devoted himself to caring for. A loving and devoted parent to his four children, Ed, Maggie, Emily (whom he shares with his other son Damon), and Robyn. Respected father of Evelyn, Joel, and Claire; loved grandfather of Abbie, Matthew, and Molly; and cherished father of Sadie and Myles. Furthermore, cherished grandfather of Abbie, Matthew, and Molly.
Beloved brother of Phil (Ginny), Joanne (Don), the late Peter (Debbie), Janet (the late Bob), Randy, and Bridget (Brad), as well as brother-in-law of Susan (Dan), David, Brian (Sylvia), the late Lynette (the late Fred), the late Norman, and the late Terry. Also, brother-in-law of Janet (the late Bob), Randy, and Bridget (Brad). Moreover, the deceased Terry’s brother-in-law. His legacy will be carried on by Aunt Dorothy, who he cherished very much. Everyone in Tom’s vast, loving extended family as well as each and every one of his countless friends will miss him tremendously. Donald and Margaret, who were going to have a child together, both perished away before he was born.
Tom’s interests outside of work included things like dirt riding, enduro racing, bowling, cycling the Bluewater Trails, instructing youth soccer, and, most recently, learning to play the guitar and becoming competent at it. Tom’s career as an electrician spanned the past half a century, and he was a proud member of IBEW Local 530 throughout that time. Tom was the grandparent that everyone was most proud of because he was a kind father first and foremost. We will never forget his generosity, kindness, and loyalty, which are qualities that will live on in our family and be passed down to future generations. Watching the sunset over Lake Huron will bring our recollections of him to the forefront, and we will always remember him.
It is now time to declare the cremation procedure finished. A funeral service will be done privately within the family for the deceased person. At the Smith Family Centre in Sarnia (1576 London Line), on the afternoon of Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., there will be an Open House to commemorate the life of Tom. This event will take place at the Smith Family Centre. Family and friends are strongly urged to be present for the event. In lieu of sending flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bluewater Trails Association or the Canadian Cancer Society in the honor of the deceased (cheques only at the funeral home please).
