Rachel Mcbrine Obituary, Cause Of Death – Rachel Elizabeth McBrine was born on March 16th, 2000 in Providence, RI. She spent her early years in Canton, Massachusetts, before her family relocated to Holbrook that same year. Even as a young child, she maintained her optimistic outlook and creative spirit. She had a great time drawing and developing backstories for her original characters.
She showed early signs of academic success and continued to perform at the top of her class throughout her schooling. As she entered a high school classroom, it was obvious that she wanted to major in some sort of scientific discipline and work in that area as a career. She graduated from Holbrook Middle-Senior High School in 2018 and was named Valedictorian.
Both an academic and the Daron Jean Baptiste Memorial Scholarship were given to her, so she could attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute at no expense to her family. Worcester Polytechnic Institute awarded her a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biotechnology in May of 2022. She is very fresh to the job, having most recently worked as a Lab Assistant at Boston’s Dana Farber Cancer Institute. She had always dreamed of becoming a professor and running her own research facility.
Rachel’s life outside of work encompassed many different pursuits. She was talented in the kitchen (her specialty was Asian cuisine), the kitchen, the library, and the crochet hook (she could turn a photo into a beautiful crocheted object). Asian food was by far her favorite. She had a slight green thumb obsession (which made it difficult for her not to add to her collection whenever she passed the gardening section of a store). Rachel was devoted to advancing social justice and was convinced that every person deserved to be treated with compassion and kindness.
Rachel prioritized her commitment to her loved ones above all else. She was a loyal friend to everybody who knew her, and she put her loved ones first in her life. She frequently and enthusiastically went shopping for the most heartfelt presents for the people she cared about, and she took great pride in this. Her devoted boyfriend Nathan Draudt, her devoted grandma Elaine Hopkins, and her many devoted aunts, uncles, and cousins will all miss her tremendously. Rachel was very attached to the family’s two cats, Ollie and Lucy, as well as her human siblings (as well as the others who came before them). She was quite involved with the WPI chapter of PAWS (Promotion of Animal Welfare Society) throughout her time there. As often as they could, the group would split off to volunteer at a local shelter.
