Moradabad: The man’s claims that he was harassed and had his beard torn out were untrue; according to the police, he was beaten after molesting a female in a train.
The incident involves a businessman from Moradabad who filed a complaint at the GRP station there. He claimed in the lawsuit that he was beaten, stripped down to his underwear, and had his beard pulled while riding the Padmavat Express train.
Additionally, he claimed that some passengers shouted “Jai Shri Ram” inside the train.
The Moradabad Police opened an investigation and lodged a case based on the complaint.
The police said that after speaking with the witnesses who were on the train, it was discovered that neither his beard was pulled nor were “Jai Shri Ram” chants heard.
The businessman, according to the authorities, was the one who sexually harassed a woman who was seated next to him before some bystanders became enraged and beat him up.
Despite not having received a complaint from the woman, the police claimed they would file a case and take action against the businessman as soon as they did.
