Oxnard High School Lockdown – Once a potentially dangerous video was found on Wednesday afternoon at an elementary school in Oxnard, the administration made the decision to place the school in a state of lockdown. Officers from the Oceanview Police Department were dispatched to the junior high school at approximately 2:20 in the afternoon after authorities became aware of a video in which a student brandishing a firearm threatened to kill two other students as well as members of his family.
In the video, the student also brandished a firearm in front of the camera. The video was discovered on the surveillance camera that was installed at the school. The student in question emailed the video to another student, who then informed staff and administration, who then notified the relevant authorities.
The student in question is the one who is being investigated. At that point, a lockdown mechanism was implemented throughout the establishment. During their investigation, the authorities came to the conclusion that the students were all acquaintances with one another and that they had collaborated on the production of the film together.
In addition to this, it was found that the weapon in question was actually an airsoft imitation of a firearm. There was not a significant danger associated with this endeavor.
