All of his great-grandparents, including RJ and Mary Sue Knight, Max and Margie Douthat, Bob and Lois Smith, Carl and Dorothy Morelock, and RJ and Margie Douthat, passed away before he was born. Max, who was fondly referred to as “Bubby” by those who loved him, was a native of Greeneville and had spent his youth there. These people called him “Bubby.” He started his schooling at Greeneville High School, where he graduated with his high school diploma, then continued it at Walter State Community College.
In addition to being a passionate fly fisherman, he also worked in construction with his buddy Berry and his boss Berry, where they had a lot of laughs and accomplished a lot together. Home for Max may be found in the adjacent hills or along the banks of any of the nearby streams. You might find him there, engaged in the pursuits that gave him the greatest sense of fulfillment. When I got to know Max well, I couldn’t help but fall in love with him and his kind, compassionate heart. He was a fantastic friend to many people, and he will be missed dearly by each and every one of those individuals.
