Her fame spread beyond the Golden State. Because it is my responsibility to contribute to this conversation, I feel obligated to share some of the things that have been going through my head. Marybel was an active participant in the California Bonsai Society and the Kofukai bonsai club for a good number of years.
Which enabled her to rise to important leadership roles in both organizations. She was an active member of both of the organizations that were previously mentioned. In addition to this, she was a significant factor in the transformation of the United States National Collection into the prosperous institution that it is today. Because of her departure, the bonsai community will undoubtedly endure a loss of some type and in some way. This is an unavoidable consequence of her absence.
