His parents, Pasquale “Patsy” and Mary (Cristofano), passed away prior to Mario’s birth on January 29, 1936 in Waterbury, Connecticut. Mario was named after his father. They were both raised in Waterbury throughout their formative years.
He was the son of his mother and father. He was a reserve soldier for the United States and served with distinction on land that belonged to the United States during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Watertown High School, where he was involved in extracurricular activities and served as student body president. Mario worked as a salesman for the F. & M. Schaffer Brewing Company his entire life, and when he finally reached the age at which he could retire, he did so.
Mario’s career spanned his entire life. In addition to that, he has served in the past as the owner of Mario’s Variety Store, Buckingham Spirit Shop, and Yankee Coffee Service.
