Lonnie Strickland Obituary, Death Cause – God rest your soul Lonnie Strickland. I’m going to miss having regular contact with you at work. You were one of a kind and had an uncanny ability to make me laugh and feel happy all the time. You offered me some of the wisest counsel, which I will always be grateful for. This community is going to grievously miss having you here.
I will pray for Trevor and for you and your family. On Sunday, Lonnie Kent Strickland, Sr. passed away at the Grandview Hospice after a long and fruitful life. He was eighty years old. Cremation services were provided earlier today by O’Connor Funeral Home, which was in charge of the proceedings.
West Palm Beach, Florida was the location where Lonnie Gerome and Clarice Ogle Strickland first became parents on October 13, 1938. This event marked the beginning of their family. He joined his older sister, Joann. After completing his high school education, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was eventually given the position of Lineman in the Construction Battalion.
His unit was in response to building Mercury Telecommunications Towers along the coast of Africa. He tied the knot with Judith Likes on August 20th, 1960, in West Palm Beach. The year was 1960. Both Rusty and Dennis were born in September, however, Rusty came first in 1961 and Dennis came first in 1968.
Dennis was chosen as the first name for both Lonnie and Judy’s offspring. In 1972, they uprooted their lives and moved their family to Great Falls, Montana, where Lonnie found work with the Montana Power Company and remained employed there until the year 2000. Golf, fishing, and excursions to historical places and museums were among Lonnie’s favorite things to do in his spare time.
Among those who will carry on Lonnie’s legacy after he has passed away are his children, Rusty (Jacquie) Strickland and Dennis Strickland, as well as his grandchildren Tyler, Cole, Shannon, and Daniel.
