Larry Hatfield Obituary, Death Cause – Larry Hatfield, who was 76 years old when he passed away on December 22, 2022, in his home in Baker City, Oregon, he did not experience any pain in his final days. After his birth in June of 1946, Larry was brought up on a farm in Greenville, Ohio, which operated as a business. He was one of a total of five children who were reared there. When he was 16 years old, he went to a religious camp where he first met the woman who would later become his wife.
Her name is Darlene Haney. They didn’t get married until three years later. They celebrated their wedding anniversary in July of this past year, which was their 57th year together as a married couple.
Larry, who has had a restless and independent spirit for as long as anyone can remember, has been a self-employed entrepreneur for the vast bulk of his working life. He was a tooling engineer by trade and ran his own design company in addition to working in the plastics sector.
Once he retired, he continued to pursue his interest in woodworking by running a custom woodworking business out of the shop he had previously built in John Day, Oregon. Before he retired, he had created the shop. Larry was endowed with a number of qualities that, when taken as a whole, served to distinguish both him and his life. He was a man of unwavering faith who was also known for his exceptional integrity, honesty, and morals. Everyone who came into contact with him was able to appreciate his amazing sense of humor, which he maintained right up until the end of his life.
Before Larry passed away, his mother and father, both of his siblings, and one of his seven grandsons all passed away one after the other. His wife, Darlene, as well as his children Jeff (Susan) Hatfield of Tempe, Arizona, and Janelle (Bill) Davis of Pinole, California, and Jason (Sarah) Hatfield of Baker City, Oregon, will miss him very much. Also, he is survived by his two sisters, Bev (Dennis) Fourman (FM-70) of Greenville, Ohio and Shirley (Stan) Hicks (FM-74) of Eaton, Ohio. Both of these women were married to men who served in the United States Air Force. Larry cherished his grandsons, and they will feel a significant loss upon his passing.
