Kathy Thompson Obituary, Cause Of Death – At the age of 71, Kathy Thompson left this world on Monday, March 7, 2022, at the University of Minnesota West Bank Hospital. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. Kathy Johnson’s parents, Harvey and Dorthy (Nelson) Johnson, welcomed her into the world on October 12, 1950, in Minneapolis.
In 1968, Kathy received her diploma from Lincoln High School, which was located in Bloomington, Minnesota. She spent the majority of her early adult life tending to, providing for, and watching over her four children. When she was bringing up her children, she held a variety of occupations, but she spent the majority of her working life as an executive secretary for various clients, including lawyers, doctors, bankers, and church organizations.
On January 26, 2002, Kathy wed Mark Thompson in a wedding ceremony. Mark and Kathy had both been previously married, but after remarrying, they created a mixed family consisting of six children and five grandkids. After they got married, she gave up her career and focused most of her time on raising her family, which included her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
When Kathy and Mark initially got married, they went on multiple short-term mission missions to China, Vietnam, and Africa. Kathy cherished the time she got to spend seeing the United States with her husband, Mark. They spent several of their winter holidays in Southwest Florida in the region that includes Fort Myers and Sanibel Island. They came to adore this part of the state so much that in 2004, they made the decision to buy a house in the Fort Myers area.
They moved to Florida permanently in 2019 after spending an increasing amount of time there each year. Kathy enjoyed solving puzzles and reading books, but what she enjoyed most was spending time with her large extended family and the many friends she had. She was the best at giving hugs in the entire world, and she took great pleasure in arranging and decorating her home.
