John was one of the early founders of the Azalea Youth Soccer League in 1978, when the organization was just getting its beginnings, and he helped get it off the ground. This was the year that the Azalea Youth Soccer League began. Back in 1978, John was an original member of the group that would later become the organization.
John and his family have made it a priority to give something back to the community, and one of the ways in which they do this is by volunteering a significant portion of their time to coach and officiate youth soccer games. Even after forty-five years, the program is flourishing.
And it is continuing to be of significant assistance to the community for which it was initially conceived as a means of providing assistance. In the long run, John’s contributions to the process that paved the way for the program’s successes were critical in making those contributions possible.
