Irma Caroline Obituary, Cause Of Death – Irma Louise Caroline Hurelbrink Obendorf Rohls, who was born in Versailles and lived in Madison, passed away on March 8, 2023 in the River Terrace Health Center in Madison. She was 100 years old at the time of her passing. She was born in Dewberry on June 16, 1922, and her parents were Henry Hurelbrink and Louise (Bokenkamp) Hurelbrink.
She was the oldest of their three children. Irma had all of her education, from first through eighth grade, in the one-room schoolhouse that was located in Right. She received her high school diploma from Versailles High School in 1940 and then continued her education at Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati.
Ohio, receiving her nursing degree in 1943. The town of Versailles, Ohio was home to her high school, which was named Versailles. On May 6th, 1944, she wed Arnold “Shorty” Obendorf in St. Paul Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. Their wedding took place.
The offspring of Irma and Arnold were generously given to three wonderful people: Ellen, Kenneth, and Phyllis. Arnold lost away in 1972, a year before to his wife’s passing in 1973. At St. Paul Lutheran Church on February 26, 1994, Irma Rohls and Leonard Rohls exchanged vows and became husband and wife. In 2017, Leonard Rohls passed away, which was one year prior to Irma’s passing.
