Prior to their Sunday afternoon North London Derby match with Tottenham, Arsenal may have given a major team news indication. The game is expected to be one of the biggest between the two in recent memory, possibly only matched by the rearranged encounter from last season, which saw Spurs beat their rivals to finish in the top four.
The situation is a little different this time around as the Gunners lead the league by five points over Manchester City, who is now in second place. Due to the fact that the defending champions have played one more game after losing the Manchester Derby on Saturday by a score of 2-1, Mikel Arteta’s team has a tremendous opportunity to extend their lead.
To increase that lead, though, is anything but simple given that their close neighbors are playing the game they already have in hand. On the Derby Day match, an optimistic Arteta exclaimed, “I really adore it.” We’re here to play these games because of that.
Every word Mikel Arteta uttered regarding the Mudryk transfer, FA charges, Jesus, and Tottenham vs. Arsenal can be found here.
“For us, it’s one of the most important games of the year. We are aware of the importance of the situation for both ourselves and our people. However, we will have to concentrate on playing effectively and doing the necessary actions to win the game.
Making a choice on his left-back will be one of Arteta’s major challenges, as he has a variety of possibilities to consider when coming up with a strategy to defeat the opposition. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney have both had opportunities there, although there has been a lot of rotation due to a combination of tactical decisions and injuries.
However, Tierney may have been given the opportunity to play after the official Arsenal account shared a pre-game hype image with the Scotsman posing before the game. This does not always imply their involvement, though, as Zinchenko also uploaded a graphic of his own to his Instagram story.
It is unclear which choice Arteta will make when he starts on the left wing, but it could change the course of the game either way.
