Heather Featheringill Obituary, Cause Of Death – Heather Featheringill, 35, of Lyons, Colorado, was identified as the person who passed away after being involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Monday evening close to Lyons by the Boulder County Coroner. According to Trooper Gabriel Moltrer of the Colorado State Patrol, Featheringill had been driving eastbound on United States Highway 36 just west of Lyons just prior to the collision.
She was operating a Toyota Sienna from the year 2006, and she was accompanied in the vehicle by a young boy who was 6 years old and was sitting in a child seat that faced forward. According to Moltrer, the accident occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. as Featheringill was approaching Groover Road (mile marker 19).
As she approached a sweeping left-hand curve, her vehicle went off the right side of the road. After launching itself into the air after going over an embankment, the vehicle rolled multiple times before finally coming to a stop on its wheels. Moltrer stated that a medical professional at the scene pronounced Featheringill, who had been thrown from the vehicle, to be deceased. The boy, who has not been named in any official capacity, was taken to the hospital after sustaining some relatively minor injuries.
Moltrer stated that it was not believed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident; however, he did mention that excessive speed may have been a factor. A full autopsy will be performed by the coroner, and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding Featheringill’s passing are currently ongoing.
