Harper Black Obituary, Cause Of Death – Harper M. Black, age 82, of HCR 73, Three Springs, passed away on September 17, at three o’clock in the afternoon, at the Conemaugh Valley Hospital in Johnstown. He was a resident of Three Springs. On November 8, 1911, he was born in Taylor Township, Fulton County, Ohio.
His parents, Charles Black and Edna (McClain) Black had both passed away prior to his birth. He was their son. His first marriage was to Nancy Lavilla Cook, who passed away on July 24, 1982. His second marriage was to Marie Miller. He had two children from his first marriage. In addition to his wife, who can be located at their home, he has three children, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition, he has 10 stepchildren who are still alive, and he has four siblings and sisters who are still alive.
His four children, Harper Black Jr., and his infant sons, together with his three brothers and one sister, had already left the house before he did. Mr. Black was a devout member of the Nazarene congregation that meets at the Mount Tabor Church of the Nazarene, which is situated on Waterfall Road.
In addition to that, he was a member of the Hustontown Volunteer Fire Company for his entire life. Mr. Black spent the better part of his life toiling away in the field of agriculture.
