Gary Gisondi Obituary, Death Cause – I’m sorry to inform you that another classmate has passed away. Gary Gisondi passed away on the previous Saturday. Without a shadow of a doubt, he was well-known to all of the students in our class.
My experiences with Gary in the classroom, on the athletic field, and after we graduated have left an impression on me. He was one of a kind. The one and only story from school that I’ll relate here is from my French class. While we were doing so, we were listening to a recording of a lesson, and it began with “Voici Luc” (Here is Luke).
Because it made him laugh so much, he carried the proverb with him into the basketball season, when he was one of the starting forwards. The shout “Voici Luc” would begin as soon as he crossed the foul line in each game. Gary, however, knew exactly what it meant, and he would flash a smile up to the Cornbread Society cheering section whenever it was mentioned.
The majority of the spectators in the crowded gymnasium had no idea what it referred to. Despite the fact that our lives have very seldom entwined in recent years, there is still a hole in my heart that will be difficult to fill.
Wherever you are at this same moment, Gary, I really hope that you are able to hear “Voici Luc.” Dear buddy, I pray that you find rest. Gary Gisondi, a member of the Bensalem High School Class of 1970 and a Bensalem educator for the past 35 years…
