Don Mcgowan Obituary, Caused Of Death – In the early hours of Thursday morning near Barrington, a rollover accident claimed the lives of two people who were traveling in the vehicle. There were two cars involved in the collision. An accident that involved a single vehicle took place on the 600 block of South Hough Street, which is located just south of the central business district of the village.
Richard A. Wetterholm, 85, of Wheeling, and Mary A. Gulbranson, 78, of Barrington were named as the victims in an announcement made by the office of the medical examiner in Cook County on Thursday night. The victims all hailed from the Barrington region where they were killed.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at 10:36 a.m., according to Dave Dorn, the Chief of Police in Barrington. The call for assistance came from a local resident who had heard the crash and was in need of aid. According to him, the car, a Toyota Camry, was traveling in the direction of the north on Hough Street when it suddenly veered off the road and ended up on the opposite side of the road close to Sturtz Street.
During the time when emergency services were working in the area, the portion of Hough Street that is located between Monument Avenue and the point where it branches off onto Barrington Road was restricted to vehicular traffic. In the area between the two streets, this closure was implemented. The officials stated that automobiles were once again permitted to use the roads as of Thursday afternoon.
