On February 15, 2023, Shinsky, who was a resident of Cambridge, Kings County, and who had died away with his family and friends at his side, passed away. He had shown an incredible amount of perseverance during his fight against chronic pancreatitis, which he had been facing for a long period. He was born in Kentville on January 8, 1961, and his mother was named Ernest Corbin.
His father, who had passed away, was named after his mother. George shared his knowledge of baseball as well as his affection for the younger generation with the children and teenagers he coached, whose ages ranged from five to nineteen years old.
