Charles Howard Obituary, Cause Of Death – We are writing to express our deepest condolences to you on the loss of Charles “Charlie” Howard, who served as a police officer in the city of Painesville in the past. He was 81.
Charlie began his career as a patrol officer with the Painesville Police Department on July 1, 1964.
His first day on the job was July 1. It wasn’t until the late 1970s that he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant, having worked his way up through the ranks to eventually become a patrol sergeant. On December 28, 1996, he retired from the department after stepping down from his post as Executive Lieutenant and stepping down from his position.
Charlie had good links with the local police force and was a frequent visitor at events hosted by the FOP. He frequently brought his wife Ruth along with him to these gatherings. He was a veteran of the police and a man who had seen a lot in the line of duty throughout the course of his life.
He was also a man who had seen a lot in the line of duty. After he retired from the Portland Police Department, he spent the next 15 years working for Laketran, where he continued to be a selfless public servant by supporting less mobile members of the community.
