Ashleigh Reedy Obituary, Death Cause – Ashleigh Cassandra Reedy, born in Midland, Texas, on May 1, 2003, became a lovely angel on March 6, 2023. Ashleigh, her older brothers Daniel and Noah, and her younger sister McKenzie were reared in Midland, TX by Mike and Amy Reedy. Ashleigh was known for her warm personality and naturally curly hair.
Ashleigh was a leader and positive role model who inspired others via her character, love of life, grasping every opportunity, and seeing the glass as three-quarters full. She was an MHS Varsity Cheerleader and a cherished confidant and friend. Ash liked reading, music, and Marvel movies. She and her family attended Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech games often.
She spent her free time babysitting and volunteering at the church. Ashleigh was loved and mentored at Golf Course Road Church of Christ. She worked with younger children in youth group programs. She used Midland College’s CTE programs at MHS. . Ashleigh cared about others.
Ashleigh was dedicated to nursing, and her clinical rotations at The Village at Manor Park strengthened her intention to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Lubbock Christian University in 2021. She was anxious to experience college with her cousin Madalyn. Master Follies and intramural athletics were her Kappa Phi Kappa activities.
Ashleigh made the Dean’s List all three semesters. McKenzie discovered a Melanoma-positive mole while braiding Ashleigh’s hair in March 2021. The biopsy ranked lowest for metastasis after surgery and genetic testing. In June 2022, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma after testing was inaccurate. Ashleigh persevered and sought treatment in Lubbock and MD Anderson in Houston.
Ashleigh survived Noah & Rachel’s wedding, Lincoln’s birth, Hunter & Karissa’s wedding, and Sam and London’s snuggles and affection. . Ashleigh lived on campus at LCU as a full-time student and earned a 3.8 in the fall semester while traveling to MD Anderson every two weeks for a clinical trial.
In her grandparents’ home, she made numerous Thanksgiving and Christmas memories with family. Ashleigh’s neurological condition changed drastically on December 28, 2022. Ashleigh and her family spent a week at MD Anderson in Houston to adjust her therapy and clinical trial after an overnight stay at Covenant.
Ashleigh and her family moved in with Meme & Papa in Lubbock. In February, Ashleigh chose hospice care in Lubbock alongside family and friends when all efforts failed.
